Washington Career Technical Sports Medicine Association State

Twelve Sports Medicine students competed at the 29th annual Washington Career and Technical Sports Medicine Spring Symposium and Competition on April 28-29, 2023, their state competition. Students complete two (2) 100 point general knowledge tests in sports medicine and then one (1) 100 point test in one of the following specialties, exercise physiology, medical terminology, CPR and first aid, anatomy and physiology, or oral practical. This is the most sports medicine students who have attended this event and we had our first state placer in Stella Billingsley who placed 4th out of 84 competitors in the Exercise Physiology/Strength and Conditioning specialty. This is considered the most difficult specialty at the event.

The instructors were also invited to participate in an anatomy competition on the Anatomage table and team Mid-Columbia Conference including Kelsey Dill (WaHi), Ciara Ashworth (Kamiakin), and Matt Gray (Hanford) took first place.
