WaHi’s Digital Photography students in Mr. Peck’s class win at the 2023 ESD 123 Art Show Award

Makaila Saenz (Digital Photography) Judge’s Choice Award Winner

Makaila Saenz’s image “Untitled” was chosen as one of 15 pieces to be awarded a Judge’s Choice Award. Makaila’s Digital Photography piece moves on to the OSPI State Art Show competition this spring, on May 30, in Seattle. Makaila was also awarded a Central Washington University Scholarship for $2000.

All students participating in the OSPI State Art Show receive a certificate signed by the Superintendent.

Selected artworks will be given a statewide award and will receive special recognition at an awards ceremony program, a cash award of $200, and a trophy. Honorable Mention awards receive a certificate only.

Kali Gerber (Digital Photography) Superintendent’s Choice Award Winner

Kali Gerber’s image “Untitled” was chosen as one of 10 pieces to be awarded a Superintendent’s Choice Award.  The Superintendent of each participating school district selects one piece of art. The purpose of this award is to allow the district to recognize one outstanding artist representing their district. This piece is also eligible for the Judges Choice Award.
