Hour of Code

Anybody can learn computer science (CS) - regardless of age, gender, race, or ability. With the support of our elementary school principals, the 5th-grade students in our district grade schools began learning computer science in Walla Walla Public Schools’ first-ever “Hour of Code Roadshow.”  Over the course of three days in December, CS Teachers Kerry Delfino, Jonathan Arthur, and Mike Bertram brought the “Hour of Code Roadshow '' to twelve 5th-grade classrooms introducing computer science and coding to over 290 students. The goal of this activity is to expand access to computer science in schools, with a focus on increasing participation.
