Programming & Digital Media class at Lincoln High School

Lincoln High School has a new CTE program, Programming and Digital Media taught by Erik Gordon. Programming and Digital Media explores careers and skills surrounding the 1.5 billion dollar e-sports industry. Potential career pathways include broadcasting, computer programming, networking engineering, graphic designer, public relations specialist, marking specialist, media content creation, and event management.

The class uses Coding for Minecraft and Code Combat to introduce block coding and text-based programming. Opensource Broadcasting Software provides a platform for students to create professional content for platforms such as youtube or live streaming services like Twitch. Programming and Digital Media is a two-year program that will feed nicely into SEATech’s Careers in Media & Entertainment program.
