FFA Next Gen: Plant Systems Conference
Walla Walla High School’s Plant Biology students, Kinzey Appleford and Haley Soto-Aguirre, were selected to attend the Next Gen Plant Systems Conference in Orlando, Florida on March 4-8, 2025.
As described in the National FFA Website, “Next Gen conferences focus on specific career pathways. This application-based conference allows students to map out their future through career exploration sessions, industry roundtables, and tours.”
In the daytime, Haley and Kinzey will be touring citrus farms, Scotts Fertilizer and Seed Company, (among other businesses) and at night, they will be participating in roundtable discussions with NASA scientists and Epcot Center greenhouse workers while attending sessions on employment skills and career planning.
